How do we celebrate the Holi festival in India?

Color, who doesn't like it? Indeed each color holds a true meaning behind it. Although it used to be the dimensions that our human eye sees. It also has a great impact on a person’s emotions like enthusiasm, joy, and so on.

Apart from this, holi festival does influence to go the extra mile to treat all equally. On this day, people wear fresh clean dresses and gather around with their peers. People used to spray colors or water mixed with colors and wipe out the color differentiation among us.



Why do we celebrate Holi festival?

Holi festival occurs on the day of the full moon in the month of Falgun and comes in feb-mar months. It happens to be the panguni month in Tamil.

  • Holi stands to be a fest play and players spray and put the colored water on others in their street.

  • Not only that but the energetic players yell like ‘holi hai’ in Hindi which means happy holi/its holi.

  • However, the colors happened to be natural which we take from the plants. Similarly, green from neem, red from pomegranate, yellow in turmeric, etc. The color hues were then mixed with water and sprayed from the water guns.

  • Nowadays, all the herbal colors have faded away and we started using artificial colors that affect skin irritation. Hence, one must be careful and wash it off to put on neat clothes at the end of the Holi fiesta.

  • Moreover, the Holi celebrations may go beyond the control and cross the limits. Hence the police officials keep an eye out always during the Holi festival.
